2019年7月31日，中国国际电视台（CGTN）拍摄的纪录片《中国脱贫攻坚》(China's War on Poverty)在美国公共电视网南加州电视台 (PBS SoCal)19:00黄金时间播出。
这是美国主流媒体首次播出深度介绍中国扶贫的电视专题节目。
"Voices from the Frontline: China's War on Poverty", a documentary film produced by China Global Television Network (CGTN) and the Kuhn Foundation, premiered on PBS SoCal on July 31, 2019 at 7 pm PT. It was the first time that a US mainstream media broadcast a special, in-depth TV program on China's poverty alleviation.
作为国内第一部以外国人视角解读中国扶贫的纪录片，《中国脱贫攻坚》(China's War on Poverty)以外国人的眼光、贴近海外受众的叙事方式全面介绍了中国的“精准扶贫，精准脱贫”。
该片由中国国际电视台(CGTN)《走近中国》栏目主持人、美国资深中国问题专家、“中国改革友谊奖章”获得者罗伯特•劳伦斯•库恩博士主持并撰稿，由中美团队联合拍摄。
"Voices from the Frontline: China's War on Poverty" is the first documentary in China to examine China's poverty alleviation from a foreign perspective. It is hosted and written by Dr. Robert Lawrence Kuhn, host of the CGTN program "Closer to China with R.L. Kuhn", renowned China expert and recipient of the China Reform Friendship Medal.
Produced by a joint US-China production team, the documentary provides a textured and intimate portrayal of China's historic "targeted poverty alleviation."

历时两年，摄制组先后走访了贵州、甘肃、新疆、山西、四川、海南等地，探访中国的贫困家庭，采访了国务院扶贫办负责人以及省、市、县、乡、村五级政府官员，跟踪拍摄了大量一手资料，通过真实记录普通人的故事和案例，将“精准扶贫，精准脱贫”、“五个一批”等中国理念呈现给海外观众：

Focusing on six cases, the documentary presents the Chinese concepts of "targeted poverty alleviation" and explains the "five methods" to overseas audiences.

该片是第一次有媒体跟踪拍摄脱贫攻坚第三方评估全过程：
拍摄了评估团队如何防止地方政府提前布置应对突击检查等鲜为人知的故事；
记录了贫困户坦言帮扶人员没来过自己家等案例；
用事实印证了国务院扶贫办主任刘永富在采访中所说的中国脱贫攻坚——
“目标是明确的，决心是很大的，对象是清楚的，任务是具体的，结果是较真的，想作假是不行的。”
The documentary recorded on camera, for the first time, the entire process of a third-party assessment of poverty alleviation. The film crew followed the assessment team of Southwest University to Pingshan County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, and captured the little-known story of how the assessment team had forestalled local governments from making arrangements intended to mitigate surprise inspections, as well as accounts of poor households complaining about poverty-alleviation helpers who were "no shows".
The third-party evaluations are an essential part of poverty alleviation and echo the words of Liu Yongfu, Director of the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development. "China's goal of poverty alleviation is clear," he said; "our determination is firm, subjects clear, tasks concrete. Requirements to get result are stringent. Fraudulent practices will not be tolerated."

“发展生产脱贫一批、易地搬迁脱贫一批、生态补偿脱贫一批、发展教育脱贫一批、社会保障兜底一批”
中国问题专家库恩表示：
“《中国脱贫攻坚》和以往节目完全不同。在节目拍摄过程中，我们发现中国政府为每个贫困家庭建立了完整的档案，制定了与之相对应的精准脱贫计划，切实帮助他们将生活提升到绝对贫困线以上。在村民举行的民主会议上，我们还见证了他们制定极端贫困户标准的投票表决程序。同时，我们亲眼所见，中国政府对地方官员采取了严格的问责制度，将扶贫工作纳入地方官员的工作考核，使其岗位责任与职业前途紧密挂钩。”
该片的美国导演、艾美奖得主彼得•盖泽尔表示：
“带领国际团队在中国偏远地区拍摄是一个极具挑战性的工作，但跨文化合作让我们有机会深入了解中国，深入了解‘精准扶贫，精准脱贫’这一庞大计划是如何在中国成功开展的。”
执行制片人朱亚当认为：
“脱贫是利国利民的大好事，对中国社会的未来发展至关重要。在拍摄中，我们通过镜头收集了很多振奋人心的故事。我们希望将这些故事做成影像，献礼中国建国70周年。”
该片为中国国际电视台（CGTN）推出的《中国脱贫攻坚》系列节目之一。
节目推出后收到了来自全球各地观众的好评，总观看量已达600多万次。
联合国驻华协调员罗世礼盛赞节目内容精彩丰富，事例生动详实，全面、深度解析了中国的扶贫成就。
印度观众认为，印度可以从中国脱贫经验中学到很多东西，中国在扶贫上的努力值得赞赏。
南非网友说，中国在扶贫问题上给其他国家做出了表率。
The "China's War on Poverty" series is accessible to major cities in more than 100 countries in Asia, America, Europe, Africa and Oceania, through the TV channels, website, mobile applications, social networking and other platforms of China Media Group.
It has been warmly received by audiences all over the world since its launch, with the total number of viewers exceeding 6 million. Nicolas Rosselin, the UN Resident Coordinator in China, praised the program for its comprehensive and in-depth depiction of China's achievements in poverty alleviation with rich, vivid and detailed examples.
